    Οι Smashing Pumpkins δικαίως αποτελούν ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα συγκροτήματα της προ-προηγούμενης (τώρα πια) δεκαετίας. Με hard rock ντεπούτο (“Gish” 1991), εκπληκτική συνέχεια (Siamese Dream 1993), ό,τι πιο ολοκληρωμένο κυκλοφόρησε στα 90’s (“Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness”1995) και ένα σκοτεινό gothic δίσκο (“Adore” 1998) κατάφεραν να επιζήσουν ως και το τελευταίο τους (Machina/The Machines of God  και Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music 2000) όπου και βάρεσαν διάλυση. Όμως ο εγκέφαλος της μπάντας  Billy Corgan έπειτα από τον απογοητευτικότατο solo album του (“The Future Embrace” 2005) αποφάσισε να επανενώσει το συγκρότημα, για την ακρίβεια τον εαυτό του και τον ντράμερ Jimmy Chamberlin και να κυκλοφορήσει το 2007 το κατώτερο των προσδοκιών δίσκο (“Zeitgeist” 2007).

    Ο πολυαναμενόμενος νέος δίσκος των Smashing Pumpkins “Teargarden by Kaleidyscope” έπρεπε ήδη να έχει κυκλοφορήσει. Αντ’ αυτού οι fans του συγκροτήματος από το Σικάγο (για να είμαστε ειλικρινείς οι fans του Billy Corgan μιας και αυτός είναι το συγκρότημα) μπορούν να πάρουν ένα δείγμα από αυτό το δίσκο μιας και στην επίσημη ιστοσελίδα της μπάντας διατίθενται δωρεάν δύο τραγούδια, το “Widow Wake My Mind” και το “A Song For A Son”. Ξεχωρίσει το δεύτερο, με αργό tempo  αλά  “Stairway To Heaven” σε progressive στυλ θυμίζοντας την παλιά καλή εποχή του ακρογωνιαίου λίθου των 90’s “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness”.
